Job Purpose
The Engineer, Reliability (Reliability Team – Habshan) provides technical expertise and engineering support to operational and maintenance teams in all aspects of reliability engineering, equipment assessment, and performance monitoring. The role aims to improve equipment reliability, reduce maintenance costs, prevent unexpected failures, and enhance asset performance through proactive maintenance strategies.
Key Responsibilities
Reliability Engineering
- Develop and implement reliability improvement programs.
- Conduct Root Cause Failure Analysis (RCFA).
- Perform Reliability Centered Maintenance (RCM) studies.
- Implement Asset Performance Management (APM) initiatives.
- Recommend preventive and predictive maintenance strategies.
- Improve equipment availability and operational reliability.
Equipment Performance and Asset Management
- Monitor equipment performance and condition.
- Identify equipment issues before failures occur.
- Utilize predictive maintenance tools and condition monitoring techniques.
- Maintain equipment bad actor listings.
- Analyze equipment performance trends.
- Improve overall asset reliability and lifecycle performance.
Maintenance Strategy Development
- Develop proactive maintenance strategies.
- Shift maintenance practices from reactive to preventive maintenance.
- Recommend maintenance optimization plans.
- Reduce equipment downtime.
- Improve maintenance efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
- Support long-term asset integrity programs.
Engineering Projects and Technical Support
- Participate in Brownfield (BF) and Greenfield (GF) engineering projects.
- Review engineering packages for new installations.
- Recommend equipment selection and redundancy improvements.
- Support equipment upgrades and refurbishment projects.
- Evaluate equipment obsolescence and replacement strategies.
- Recommend engineering modifications to improve reliability.
Condition Monitoring and Predictive Maintenance
- Develop equipment monitoring techniques.
- Support operational teams with equipment health assessments.
- Apply predictive maintenance technologies.
- Analyze equipment condition data.
- Recommend corrective actions before equipment failure.
- Improve maintenance planning using real-time equipment condition information.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Provide technical advice to operations and maintenance teams.
- Coordinate with mechanical, electrical, and instrumentation engineers.
- Work with consultants, contractors, and third-party service providers.
- Support multidisciplinary engineering initiatives.
- Participate in continuous improvement programs.
Minimum Qualifications
Candidates should possess:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering
OR
- Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering
OR
- Equivalent Engineering qualification
Experience Required

- Minimum 6 years of professional experience.
- Experience in the Oil and Gas industry is preferred.
