About the Role
As a Merchandise Planner – Fashion, you will develop demand forecasts, inventory plans, and Open-to-Buy (OTB) strategies to ensure the right products are available at the right locations and at the right time. Working closely with Buying, Finance, Retail, Ecommerce, and Supply Chain teams, you will help maximize profitability while minimizing inventory risks.
Key Responsibilities
Merchandise Planning
- Develop demand forecasts and inventory plans.
- Create and manage Open-to-Buy (OTB) budgets.
- Build Merchandise Sales Stock and Intake (MSSI) plans.
- Collaborate with Buying, Retail, Finance, and Ecommerce teams.
- Develop stock allocation and replenishment strategies.
- Support Sales and Operations Planning (S&OP) processes.
Demand Forecasting
- Analyze historical sales data and market trends.
- Forecast seasonal and permanent product demand.
- Review buyer forecasts and recommend improvements.
- Support profitable buying decisions using data-driven insights.
Inventory & Supply Planning
- Develop stock and supply plans across brands and sales channels.
- Coordinate with suppliers to maintain healthy inventory levels.
- Build capacity plans considering logistics and supply chain constraints.
- Manage markdown and liquidation strategies.
- Identify slow-moving inventory and improve stock health.
Performance Monitoring
- Monitor key merchandising KPIs, including:
- Full Price Sell-Through
- Inventory Service Availability (ISA)
- Days of Inventory (DOI)
- OTIF (On-Time In-Full)
- Fill Rate
- Conduct post-season performance reviews.
- Recommend improvements for future planning cycles.
