The United States set a 129-run target for West Indies in the Super 8 round of the ongoing T20 World Cup 2024 at the Kensington Oval in Barbados Bridgetown on Friday.
Earlier, West Indies won the toss and elected to field first. Batting first, the USA managed to put together a total of 128 runs in 19.5 overs.
The USA’s top-scorer was Andries Gous who hit 29 off 16 balls, followed by Nitish Kumar who scored 20 off 19 deliveries. Milind Kumar and Shadley van Schalkwyk hit 19 and 18 respectively.
Roston Chase and Andre Russell were the most successful bowlers who dismissed three batters each. Alzarri Joseph also claimed two wickets.
Both teams lost in their respective opening Super 8 match which makes this a virtual do-or-die contest.
