- Assist in monitoring adherence to internal audit policies and procedures at the company level.
- Plan, organize, direct and conduct audits to assess the adequacy of internal controls and compliance with applicable policies, procedures and regulations.
- Provide an objective and evidence-based opinion on all aspects of governance and the efficiency and effectiveness of internal control systems necessary to protect the company’s assets, integrity of financial statements and effectiveness of operations.
- Assist in the implementation of the main activities of the Internal Audit Department, including but not limited to (risk assessment, internal audit planning, internal audit implementation, periodic follow-up of internal audit…etc).
- Prepare and review all audit reports and monitor progress in implementing corrective actions to address identified control gaps.
- Prepare reports for the Board Audit Committee and Board of Directors (if required) in accordance with relevant regulatory requirements.
- Recommend/conduct special investigations (including fraud related incidents) under the direction of the Chief Audit Officer and implement the internal audit program and identify control weaknesses.
- Advising on proposed developments such as new system implementations or reorganization of operations to help ensure any associated risks are properly identified and assessed and appropriate controls are in place.
- Ensure adherence to the Institute of Internal Auditing Standards regarding actions taken during the audit.
- Keeping abreast of developments in regulatory requirements and international standards for internal auditing and attending relevant external forums
