Netherlands on Tuesday bowled out Nepal for a scant 106 runs in the first innings of the seventh match in ongoing T20 World Cup 2024, being played at the Grand Prairie Stadium, Dallas, United States.

A clinical display of bowling by the Dutch destroyed the entire Nepalese batting line in quick dismissals.

Pacer Logan van Beek starred with three wickets while skipper Tim Pringle also took as many, dominating against the opposition.

Nepal didn’t have a good start to the innings wickets Pringle dismissing wicketkeeper Aasif Sheikh. Kushal Bhurtel was dismissed for 7 runs off 10 balls, falling to an lbw by van Beek

Anil Sah contributed 11 runs from 12 balls, succumbing to a catch by van Beek on the bowling of Pringle.

Skipper Rohit Paudel, made a significant effort with 35 runs from 37 balls but was eventually removed by Pringle. Gulsan Jha contributed at the backend with 14 rums while Karan KC scored a quick 17 runs from 12 balls, including two sixes.

Pringle bowled figures of 2/20 in his four-over spell while Van Beek finished with 3/18. Paul van Meekeren contributed effectively with his 4 overs, taking 2 wickets for 19 runs while Bas de Leede managed to take 2 wickets for 22 runs.

At the toss, the Dutch captain said that due to overcast conditions, they made this decision to bowl first.

“With the weather around, it might swing early. For us, that first goal is to get into that next round. So we have to play well and win three games.

“We are from a small country, and we play against each other, and with each other a lot,” he added.

Meanwhile, Nepal captain Rohit Paudel relished the moment of playing in the competition after ten years.

“It is a big occasion for is. After 10 years we are playing here. As a kid, always wanted to play and I feel great. Feel very happy. Playing for Nepal give me pleasure. First goal is to win today and then we will take one game at a time. The toss does not matter a lot. Looking for a good total on the board.”
