He plans to be an entrepreneur and a future leader. In fact, one of his many ambitions is to be president of India. “With management, it’s in my hands. I can use management skills however I like. If my ideas work out in the business world, I can make a lot of money and I can help others with that money,” he says. One of his ideas is to start a company that will manufacture assistive technology devices,” Srikanth’s profile on MIT portal reads. The profile was updated on the website in November, 2011. He was denied admission to coaching institutes for IIT because of his blindness.
A movie based on Srikanth’s life will be released on May 10. Meanwhile, the trailer has gained a massive positive response. The movie named ‘Srikanth’ has Rajkummar Rao in the titular role. Jyothika plays his teacher and Alaya F plays his love interest. The impressive trailer begins with Srikanth opening up on his ambition of becoming India’s first blind President. The movie talks about Srikanth’s passion for science, his ambitions, and his efforts to make the Indian education system accessible to visually impaired students.
Srikanth took to Instagram to thank the movie makers. “When I was in school, my teachers recorded lectures for me in cassette tapes made by T-series that helped me learn all my lessons and today life has taken such a circle that the same company is taking my story to the whole world. I am still processing this new reality, because this trailer has just made me realize the huge responsibility to live up to the expectations of lives I touch, for the rest of my life,” he wrote.
