Job Description
As Logistics Business Support Manager (GCC), you will initiate, lead, and drive logistics operations and improvement projects across the region. Your mandate spans end-to-end logistics—transport, customs clearance, warehousing, inventory, and network optimization—with a clear focus on raising service levels while reducing logistics costs and inventory. You’ll own relationships with LSPs, align with internal stakeholders, and maintain a strategic lens on performance, governance, and compliance.
You’ll design and track KPIs & SLAs (transit times, on-time/complete-to-time accuracy, inventory levels, rotation, warehousing and transportation costs), analyze results against budget, and tie spend to the financial ledger. You’ll build dashboards and cadence-based reviews that surface risks and opportunities early, and you’ll lead Variable Cost Productivity (VCP) and lean warehousing initiatives to pull waste from the system. Expect a close partnership with Sourcing on contract strategy, with Finance on budget adherence, and with Operations on execution at pace.
This is a role for a data-literate, results-driven leader who enjoys moving between control tower views and floor-level action—equally comfortable recounting the story in numbers and rolling up sleeves to remove bottlenecks.
Key Responsibilities
-
Regional ownership: Serve as the single point of contact for GCC logistics—internally and with LSPs—ensuring cohesive operations and clear escalation paths.
-
Operations leadership: Direct transportation, customs clearance, warehousing, material flow, and distribution to maximize efficiency, reliability, and cost-effectiveness.
-
Budget & cost control: Own the logistics budget, link spend to the ledger, and steward cost-to-serve reductions without sacrificing service or compliance.
-
KPI & SLA governance: Establish and track transit/delivery times, on-time & complete accuracy (COT), inventory levels/rotation, warehouse & transport costs, service standards.
-
Continuous improvement: Identify waste, lead CI & VCP projects, and deploy lean principles to improve throughput, accuracy, and safety.
-
Inventory integrity: Run cycle counts and physical inventories; close gaps fast to protect working capital and service reliability.
-
LSP strategy & performance: Research, negotiate, maintain, and evaluate LSP contracts in collaboration with Sourcing; hold partners to performance and value requirements.

CI at the core: You’ll lead continuous improvement and VCP projects that translate directly into margin, service gains, and resilience.

FAQs
1) Are logistics jobs Dubai at this level open to candidates without GCC experience?
GCC experience is strongly preferred due to customs, free zone, and cross-border nuances. If you’ve led multi-country logistics elsewhere and can prove fast regulatory ramp-up, you may still compete.
2) What KPIs matter most for this Logistics Business Support Manager role?
Expect focus on COT/on-time & complete, transit times, inventory accuracy/rotation, logistics cost vs. budget, warehouse throughput/errors, and LSP SLA adherence.
3) How much of the job is strategy vs. operations?
Both. You’ll design KPIs/SLAs, budgets, and LSP frameworks (strategy) while actively steering day-to-day execution, exceptions, and CI projects.
4) What does success look like in the first 90–180 days?
Stabilized KPIs, a clear dashboard cadence, quick wins on cost or lead time, a prioritized CI roadmap, and stronger LSP governance (QBR rhythm, action logs, and penalties/bonuses tied to performance).
5) What tools or methods should I highlight in interviews?
Lean/Six Sigma, value stream mapping, S&OP/SIOP touchpoints, WMS/TMS tuning (slotting, pick-path), carrier performance scorecards, and BI dashboards that drive decisions.
6) How does the role interact with Finance and Sourcing?
Closely. You’ll link spend to the ledger, validate savings, and co-own LSP strategy with Sourcing—ensuring quality, timeliness, and cost targets are contractually and operationally met.
