- Cooking and Baking: Assist in cooking and baking a variety of dishes, including appetizers, entrees, desserts, and baked goods. Follow recipes accurately, monitor cooking times and temperatures, and ensure the proper use of kitchen equipment.
- Station Support: Support various stations in the kitchen, such as the hot line, cold line, pastry section, or grill station. Collaborate with team members to ensure a smooth and efficient workflow, assisting with tasks as needed.
- Ingredient Management: Help with inventory management, including monitoring stock levels, rotating perishable items, and ensuring proper storage of ingredients. Notify the kitchen manager of any shortages or expired products.
- Food Safety and Sanitation: Adhere to strict food safety and sanitation standards, including proper handling, storage, and labeling of food items. Maintain a clean and organized work area, following hygiene protocols and kitchen cleanliness guidelines.
- Team Collaboration: Work collaboratively with the culinary team, including chefs, sous chefs, and other kitchen staff. Communicate effectively and efficiently to ensure a cohesive and productive working environment.
- Quality Control: Assist in quality control measures, including taste testing, visual inspection, and adherence to portion sizes and plating standards. Maintain consistency and quality in all food items prepared.
