KARACHI: The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) on Monday said that the weather in Karachi is expected to become hotter from today.

According to the Met Office, the intensity of heat is likely to last in several areas of Sindh till April 10 — which is expected to be the first day of Eid-ul-Fitr.

Moreover, the mercury is expected to hover between 35°C to 37°C, said the Met department.

Earlier in the morning, Karachi’s weather became foggy as the humidity in the air increased due to sea breeze.

The humidity in the air was more than 80% while the visibility in the airport area was till 5 kilometres, said the PMD. Currently, the weather is sunny with 36°C and 33% humidity.

According to Geo News last week, the temperature will continue to rise till April 10 (Wednesday). The mercury may also likely reach 39°C.

However, the mercury is expected to fall slightly till 36°C to 37°C on the second day of eid. The weather will remain hot until the city witnesses rains.
