You will be working as Service Engineer, and will be the part of Service Engineer Business Area for the Service division based in Abu Dhabi, UAE. In this role, you will be responsible to perform medium to high complex service work according to work instructions and in accordance with ABB standard processes, quality standards, and safety guidelines and deliver customer service to satisfy customers. In close cooperation with customers and other ABB teams, take actions to identify new Service business opportunities for ABB.

Your responsibilities

Ensuring customer satisfaction by executing service work according to customer orders and expectations in a safe manner, creating and maintaining a good relationship with customers and understanding their needs, identifying new sales opportunities, and convincing the client of the complete service portfolio

Strong knowledge and hands-on experience on LV & MV VFD (e.g. ACS800/880/ACS580 and ACS 580 1000/2000/5000/6000) commissioning and service and LCI experience will be added advantage

Attending jobs with complete preparedness, with the utmost professional approach and ensuring completeness of the job, following the factory recommended procedures, maintaining service tools and instruments of service engineers, and ensuring tools are calibrated

Providing technical support to customers during emergencies and site visits as and when required, ensuring good teamwork and networking within the team and across the divisions, following PCS certification requirements and completing on time, and also attending HSE training both internal and external before it expires

Preparing all documents and reports to be signed by the customer representative, ensuring the reports are uploaded in DIB/ MoR and parts returned to the factory and cases are closed on time and following up when needed, proactively identifying suggestions for product quality and customer service improvement and discuss them with management for changes

Strong self-discipline with initiative and learning spirit with a positive attitude, teamwork, and responsibility, actively ensuring that the HSE practices are of a high standard, working to eliminate unsafe incidents, performing mandatory JHA/ Risk assessment on every site following LOTO, PPE requirement report near misses and hazards and following PTW requirements on each site

Your background

Bachelor’s degree – Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Electrical or Electronic Engineering

More than 6 years of hands-on service experience on Variable frequency drives

Strong electrical or electronics engineering fundamental knowledge, knowledge of theory, structure, and application, testing ABB VFD experience, product certifications, and fault diagnosis/analysis will have added advantages.

Effective spoken and written communication in English and Arabic

Basic computer application knowledge for job reporting and communication with MS Office and other common application software
