Traffic Engineer – JH Construction
1. Providing support in the preparation of Road Safety Audits including collision investigation and prevention (CIP) solutions.
2. To ensure traffic diversions are in compliance with Qatar Work Zone Traffic Management Guide and related procedures.
3. Ensure Road Safety Audits are conducted and recommended actions are closed out accordingly to Client satisfaction and in accordance with Ashghal RSA guidelines.
4. Preparing reports and presentations on road safety issues and recommend accident preventions remedial schemes throughout the project.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct traffic impact assessments and studies to evaluate the impact of new developments on traffic flow and safety.
- Design and implement traffic signal systems, including signal timings, phasing, and coordination.
- Develop and review traffic control plans for construction projects and special events.
- Analyze traffic data and patterns to identify congestion areas and recommend improvements.
- Collaborate with other engineering teams to integrate transportation systems and infrastructure.
- Stay updated on industry trends, regulations, and best practices in traffic engineering.
- Provide technical expertise and guidance on traffic-related matters to internal and external stakeholders.
- Conduct traffic modeling and simulations to assess the effectiveness of proposed transportation projects.
- Prepare reports, presentations, and recommendations based on research and analysis findings.
- Ensure compliance with traffic engineering standards, guidelines, and regulatory requirements.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or a related field.
- Proven experience working as a Traffic Engineer or in a similar role.
- In-depth knowledge of traffic engineering principles, methodologies, and best practices.
- Familiarity with traffic analysis software and tools (e.g., VISSIM, Synchro, HCS).
- Proficiency in using computer-aided design (CAD) software for traffic signal design and layouts.
- Strong analytical skills and the ability to interpret complex traffic data.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for effective collaboration with stakeholders.
- Ability to prioritize tasks, manage multiple projects simultaneously, and meet deadlines.
- Knowledge of relevant traffic regulations, codes, and standards.
- Professional Engineer (PE) certification or willingness to obtain one is preferred.
- Familiarity with sustainable transportation and smart city concepts is a plus.
