Argentinian star forward Lionel Messi joined hands with a popular home improvement retail company Lowe’s, as his popularity has increased in the US since he started playing with Inter Miami CF last year.

According to the agreement, the North Carolina-based store chain will be Inter Miami’s official partner in home improvement.

The hardware store also partnered with South American football tournament Copa America in which the 36-year-old Messi is to participate.

In a marketing strategy to tap football fans, Lowe’s wrote on its website Thursday: “To capture the hearts and minds of consumers through a shared love for soccer, Lowe’s is delivering a hat trick for soccer fans. Lowe’s is partnering with the best soccer player in the world, Lionel Messi, Major League Soccer Club Inter Miami CF and the upcoming CONMEBOL Copa América 2024 USA.”

“Messi is not only the best player in the world who can score a goal on a dime, but he’s also the top assister in history, with over 350 assists throughout his career,” Gerardo Soto, was quoted as saying by Sportico.

Soto, who is Lowe’s vice president of brand marketing and sports partnerships, further added: “Partnering with Leo perfectly reflects Lowe’s shared passion for assisting our customers.”

The US men’s national football team which is set to host Brazil for a friendly match on June 12 after facing Colombia at the FedExField in Landover, Maryland on June 9.

When will Copa America 2024 start?

The COPA America 2024 will kickstart on June 20 at the Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta.

The final will be played on July 14 at the Hard Rock Stadium in Miami, according to Fox Sports, with matches hosted by 14 cities across the United States.
