Responsibilities:
Heavy Driver Wanted For A Organization
- Safely operate heavy commercial vehicles, including trucks and trailers, to transport goods and materials to designated locations.
- Ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal traffic regulations, as well as company policies and procedures, to guarantee the safety of yourself, other road users, and the cargo being transported.
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the assigned vehicle to verify its roadworthiness, reporting any maintenance issues to the appropriate personnel.
- Plan routes efficiently to optimize delivery schedules, considering traffic conditions, road closures, and specific customer requirements.
- Load and unload goods onto the vehicle, ensuring proper securing and handling to prevent damages during transit.
- Keep accurate records of driving activities, such as logbooks, mileage, fuel consumption, and any incidents encountered during the journey.
- Communicate effectively with the logistics team, warehouse staff, and customers to ensure smooth coordination of deliveries and pickups.
- Handle all necessary documentation related to the transported goods, including invoices, delivery notes, and other relevant paperwork.
- Maintain a clean and organized vehicle, conducting routine cleaning and inspections to uphold a professional and presentable appearance.
- Report any accidents, violations, or delays to the immediate supervisor promptly and follow the company’s established procedures for handling such situations.
Qualifications:
- Valid commercial driver’s license (CDL) with appropriate endorsements for operating heavy vehicles.
- Proven experience as a Heavy Driver, preferably in a similar industry or logistics environment.
- Excellent driving record with no history of major traffic violations or accidents.
- Familiarity with local and national traffic laws and regulations.
- Strong physical stamina and the ability to handle heavy lifting and loading/unloading tasks.
- Reliable, punctual, and committed to meeting delivery schedules.
- Exceptional attention to detail and commitment to safety.
