Israel’s war cabinet has instructed its negotiating team to resume talks on a deal to release hostages held in Gaza, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s office said in a statement. The decision came hours after footage showing the capture of five female Israeli soldiers by Hamas on Oct. 7 was released by their families, who said they hoped to push Israeli leaders to restart the discussions — which had stalled earlier this month.
