French police kill man who set fire to synagogue, officials say

Police have killed a man who tried to set fire to a synagogue in the city of Rouen in northern France, Interior Minister Gérald Darmanin said early Friday.

In a message posted on X, Darmanin said the individual had been “neutralized” and praised police for their “responsiveness and courage.”
