Arnold Schwarzenegger just revealed his tactic behind how he secured box office success for his action movie in the ‘80s and ‘90s.
In April 23, 2024, TMZ Presents: Arnold & Sly: Rivals, Friends, Icons, a special by Fox, the former California governor had a conversation with Sylvester Stallone.
The 76-year-old actor confessed how he convinced the Rocky star to headline a movie he knew would not be relatively successful.
Stop! Or My Mom Will Shoot is the movie in question, a 1992 comedy and action film, in which Stallone starred alongside Estelle Getty.
Schwarzenegger revealed how he had teamed up with his agent and worked together on a plan to convince the 77-year-old filmmaker.
“It was very clear that his agent was telling my agent, ‘Look, Sly is interested in doing it, but I don’t know if it’s the right thing for him. Let me know what you guys are thinking.’ And then my agent said, ‘Well you know, Arnold really loves it. I think it’s fantastic,'” the Terminator actor revealed.
Arnold Schwarzenegger admitted that the plan was to have Sylvester Stallone sign on for the aforementioned movie, over which they had a correct hunch of how the movie would flop at the box office.
