⚙️ Commissioning System & Process Engineer Job in Iraq – Key Responsibilities
- Report directly to the Commissioning Manager and support commissioning operations.
- Lead the functional breakdown of the NWP project into systems and sub-systems based on engineering design documents.
- Develop commissioning deliverables including commissioning execution plans and system breakdown lists.
- Coordinate commissioning start-up sequences and execution strategies.
- Work closely with the ICAPS© Administrator to define commissioning workflows and task structures.
- Allocate pre-commissioning, commissioning, and performance testing tasks within ICAPS©.
- Prepare and review commissioning procedures for complex facilities and temporary installations.
- Participate in design reviews such as HAZOP and 3D model reviews.
- Review engineering documentation including P&IDs and equipment data sheets.
- Manage system interfaces between contractors and operating facilities.
- Develop isolation and tie-in procedures for commissioning activities.
- Resolve complex technical issues during commissioning execution phases.
- Analyze system performance deviations and propose corrective actions.
- Ensure sub-systems achieve RFC status and coordinate handover procedures.
- Support the Commissioning Manager in progress reporting and project updates.

- Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering, Petroleum Engineering, or related field.
- Minimum 8 years of experience in commissioning, process engineering, or system engineering roles.
- Extensive experience in large-scale EPC oil and gas projects.
- Strong knowledge of OPERCOM® commissioning methodology.
- Experience using ICAPS© commissioning management software.
- Full commissioning lifecycle experience from engineering preparation to system handover.
- Excellent analytical and systems thinking abilities.
- Strong communication and coordination skills.
- Ability to collaborate with engineering teams, contractors, and operations personnel.
- Fluent English communication and strong technical report writing skills.
- Excellent planning and organizational skills.
