Job Description

As a Senior Buyer (Lead Buyer) in Dubai, you’ll take on a pivotal role in shaping how procurement supports project delivery. Your mission is to ensure procurement commitments built at tender stage translate into real-world delivery across suppliers—meeting QCD targets while maintaining governance, compliance, and ethical standards.

This role is not limited to transactional procurement. It’s a strategic execution position that requires you to coordinate across Procurement, Legal, and Project Management teams, define and drive procurement strategy, manage RFQs and negotiations, monitor supplier progress, and govern contract execution to reduce risks and protect project outcomes. You’ll be expected to work in a structured way, communicate clearly, and push initiatives forward even when stakeholder alignment takes effort.

Job Responsibilities

In this Senior Buyer Dubai role at Alstom, you will:

  • Secure procurement QCD commitments established during tender phase and ensure alignment with procurement teams and stakeholder requirements.

  • Define the Project Procurement Strategy with the Procurement Platform Director (PPLD) and ensure proper application across teams and stakeholders.

  • Collaborate with the Legal Department to establish and enforce project-specific legal requirements such as agreements and RFQ letters.

  • Lead supplier negotiations and manage the end-to-end Request for Quotation (RFQ) process.

  • Monitor and report on procurement project performance, including QCDT and legal project evolution, ensuring compliance with work package sheet commitments.

  • Organize procurement launch meetings, maintain an overview of supplier progress, and proactively identify and address challenges.

  • Govern supplier contract execution by ensuring compliance with contractual obligations and mitigating risks, potential claims, or delivery gaps.

  • Ensure deployment and usage of appropriate processes, tools, and reporting mechanisms across the project.

  • Support commodity strategy by consolidating needs, providing inputs, and representing commodities in collaboration with stakeholders.

  • Promote the Alstom Code of Ethics and adhere to the highest standards of ethical conduct.

Why This Role?

This is the kind of procurement role that builds your reputation as a “project driver,” not just a buyer.
